Motion

November 13, 2009 by Clint Byars Leave a Comment

Motion is a cool thing.  Newton’s first law of motion states that a body at rest tends to stay at rest.  It also states a body in motion tends to stay in motion, until acted upon by an opposing force.  How many times have you overcome that initial inertia and created motion in your life only to be stopped by something that was too much to break through?

What did you do?  Did you start again or did you just stop?  Are you still looking for that opportunity to get your life back on track?  The key is motion, energy.  The Hebrew word for energy, or our life force is pneuma.  The Chinese refer to our life force, our life energy as Chi.  These two words are synonymous  Chi is the substance that keeps your body functioning the way it should.  If you have stagnant chi, then you basically don’t have enough energy flowing through that part of your body.  If you can get energy moving through that part of your body, it will begin to heal.  On the other hand, when there is prolonged stagnant chi, the body will begin to experience pain.  Even longer sustained stagnant chi can produce disease and even death in your body.

But amazingly enough, many times all it takes to irradiate the pain from the body is to get energy flowing through that part again.  That is done through some kind of motion.  Motion is the key to keeping chi flowing.  There are other factors but moving is priority.

This truth can be paralleled in our lives.  Are there any areas of your life that you have let become stagnant?  Have those areas become life issues to the point that there is pain due to lack of motion?  There is good news.  All you have to do is begin to move forward in that area.  All you have to do is take one step and you’re on your way.  It doesn’t have to be a big step.  It doesn’t have to be the best step, it just has to be a step.  You don’t even have to know what step 2 and 3 will be, just take step 1.  Just do something to get energy flowing in that part of your life.

In Physics, a body in motion tends to stay in motion.  The more energy that an entity generates in an area, the farther it will go.  The more you move forward in any aspect of life, the harder it will be to stop you.  If you couple that with the fact that the Holy Spirit is inside of you giving you His life and reminding you who you are in Christ, you can be unstoppable.  All it takes is a little motion, just one step.  Once you move, then God has something to work with.  The Holy Spirit is called the paraclete.  He’s one called along side to help.  He’s not the one to do your life for you, He’s there to help you.  We are the doers, we are the carriers of this thing called life.  What can you do today, right now, to overcome your stagnant situation and begin to move forward?  Trust me, it doesn’t take much, just give it a try and see where you end up.  You can do this, I know you can!
